Things. Lots of things.

What a crazy, cool, riggin' last couple of weeks! I know that some people are still confused about what I ended up doing this summer or have yet to find out. That is what this post is about.

About 3 weeks ago now I was approached by someone. This person shared their heart with me and some convictions that they have had and basically told me that they felt so strongly about their conviction that they would like to sponsor me for half of my summer support to go back to Lone Tree Lakeshore for the summer. This was one of many things that happend within 4 days that looked like an amazing door that was a mile wide I am not going to disregard it. After talking out every angle with about 5 people that were un-bias between Lone Tree Lakeshore and San Diego Summer Project along with lots of praying and thinking and lists of pros and cons I decided to come to back to Lakeshore.

After all of that, here I am. I just finished up my fist week here at camp and we will be starting staff training on Monday. I have meet all of the staff and I can honestly say that I am so excited to see what else God has for me this summer. He has already answered some of the prayers here at camp by providing an incredible staff in something less than 2 weeks as well as providing a way for those people to get here.

I got to camp this week on Sunday night and I havent stopped working until today for the most part. We have been pulling weeds, sweeping sand and setting anchors for the water toys. I am sore, tired and I cant wait to do it all again next week for Jesus.

Next week (June 4-8) I will have the chance to get to know the entire staff a little better (only 3 of the 5 were here this week) through teaching/learning all of the different activities that we will be doing with the kids when they show up. Our first group will be arriving on Saturday, June 9th,  and they will be leaving Monday morning, June 11th. They are a small group of 14 from New Mexico State University. The next group will be pulling in right after the first group leaves and they will be staying until Friday June 15th. All I know about them is that they are a small youth group of about 15 people. So, I guess that tomorrow is my last day off until the 12th (dont worry, Ill spend it fishing after church).

I hope this helps clear the air about what I am doing with my life this summer as well as give you some insight into what my next 2 weeks will be looking like. I want to thank all of you for supporting me in one way or another. If you happened to send a check to Campus Crusade, I made sure that the money was going towards someone who wasn't able to raise all of their support. If you made the check out to me, I just transfered that money over to Lone Tree. I hope all of you have a wonderful summer! Keep loving and pursuing Jesus and I can promise that he will take care of you through the thick and the thin. But, dont take my word on that matter, hit up God for that one in the Bible. Try Matthew 6:29-31.

Prayer stuff:
1. For safety next week
Some of the staff will be learning how to do things that they never have done before so that can be       dangerous.
2. For The Fist 2 Groups that will be coming in about a week.
That They will see the Holy Spirit in us as they send time here at camp and that they will be moved by the Holy Spirit.

6 Weeks Out

Well, here we are about a month and a half out from being in San Diego! I dont think this has hit me yet. Thats partly because school has been insane the past 5 or 8 weeks. I feel like all I have done is go from one student film set to another. Oh well, its fun.
Anyway, I got to go home for Easter this past weekend and see my family and some of my friends. It was so refreshing to get out of routine and visit them. I also got to share what I am doing this summer with my parents Sunday School class and a few of them were really interested in what I was going to be doing! That was really encouraging to me! Just knowing that some people back in the church that I grew up in are supporting me!
As stated in the title I am 6 weeks out. This is both awesome and not awesome. Its awesome because I will get to start an amazing journey guided by God through His Holy Spirit and I will also get to do something for the first time ever in my life, see/get in/be at an ocean. I know its kinda weird that I am excited to see a giant body of water but to me (or I think it will) how awesome and glorious God is. Just like the song says, "if Love is an ocean we're all sinking" and I cant wait to see how vast and huge and deep and wide God's love for me, for us is! If that doesnt get you excited about seeing some salt water I dont know what will!
I was looking on the summer project website tonight and I saw the verse And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. This hit hard for me because I have been worrying about my support. I still have about $2500 to raise and only 6 weeks to do it. Thats a ton of money and not a whole lot of time to raise it. But after reading this verse I KNEW I had to take a step back and just let God do what he does best, provide. I mean he does it all the time and I have seeing Him do crazy thinks first hand. So, I am going to start praying about it. Praying A LOT. Because it is in His hands and I know that I am going to be provided for because He infinitely loves me and I know it is His will for me to go on this project this summer. He has shown me that in more ways than one a few times over.
So, I am going to leave with this. Please pray from me and about supporting me and for the 120 others that are coming with me this summer. Some of us, like me have never been on a summer project through Campus Crusade and other have been a ton of times but all of us are going to grow in the Spirit and learn how to love on the people around us in ways that will only show them how much God loves them. Thats what we want to do this summer. Thats what we want to learn and take away and to apply to our lives as we end the summer and go back to school or else where.
I hope you have a great (insert time of day) and I hope that God does something radical in your life and I hope that you will let him.

Much love and goodnight,

Chris

Life is crazy scary

So this past week was spring break. My last spring break of my life. How crazy is that! Anyway, I spent it up in Albuquerque looking for jobs and hanging out with some of my favorit people in the entire world. It had its moments, both good and bad, but now that I am looking back on it I can see how much God truly is in control and its scary as poop! When I got back earlier this week I basically had this conclusion: When I get back from San Diego, I will be both homeless and jobless on the other side of the country. Boom. How terrifying is that? At the time, it was awful. I sent out tons of texts and posted stuff to Facebook asking for some prayer because I was so stressed out over the fact that I have no idea what the heck I will be doing in less than 6 months from now. That being said and reflecting on it, I realized how awesome of an opportunity this is for God. Think about it, I am completely open. No job, no place to live, only a hint of where I am going to be living. Sounds like I am going to get wrecked if you ask me, in a good way.

What I want to do is be open to what God wants for me and how I can serve him. If you could, sometime if you think about it throughout the next 6 months is lift that up in prayer for me. All I want is to be a "man after God's own heart" starting right here right now and continuing until I get to home and meet Him in person. To be completely honest that scares the hell outta me. But I know that God has me, He always has and always will. I just have to quit worrying so much about it.

Thats where I am right now. Exposed and terrified of whats to come and knowing that what ever it is, it will be for God's glory.

Love,

Chris

Ps. I am about 1/3 of the way supported for this summer. If you feel lead to help support me on my mission project to San Diego this summer please send me a message on Facebook or email me at chriswall.ministry.team@gmail.com to get more information!

How to Support Me

I have less than a week to meet my first deadline of $300 so please pray about sending out a support check ASAP

So it was brought to my attention that I havent let anyone know how to support me. That's a problem. So, here is how:

1. Pray for me
This is the most important thing you can do to support me. Really.

2. Send a Support Check* made out to Campus Crusade for Christ.
MAKE ALL CHECKS* OUT TO Campus Crusade for Christ.
and mail the check to me or my parents:

Chris Wall                                              Mike & Cindy Wall
            2200 Corley                                           2001 Vivian Ave
            Apt 6 D                                                  Clovis NM 88101
            Las Cruces NM 88001

3. Send me an email if you have any questions at: chriswall.ministry.team@gmail.com

*All denotation received by check will be tax deductible*

What happens to the money? Well, the first $300 is the "hey, I am committing to the trip" and the rest of the $4,000 goes towards housing, food, stuff for ministry and transportation to and from and while in San Diego.

I have less than a week to meet my first deadline of $300 so please pray about sending out a support check ASAP

In Him,

Chris Wall

And so it begins!

So if you dont know the news all ready, I GOT ACCEPTED TO SDSP! And I am kinda excited about it. Yesterday I had the final phone interview with one of the staff that will be out there with me and after all fourth minutes of questions and answers I was accepted! Really cool.
During the interview, Doug shared Ephesians 5:18 with me:
--And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit--
He asked me what a drunk person is like and I gave an answer but what he said is what hit a note with me. He said that there are many different kinds of drunks, you have the happy ones and the sad ones and the mad ones and the quite ones but each one of these "types" are not who that person really is. When someone drinks he/she loses their self or becomes another person, if you will. What Paul is saying here is that we shouldn't try to become someone else through a drink or drugs or anything else of the sort but we should rather be "filled with the Spirit" to achieve this. Paul is telling us that it is a bad idea to become drunk to escape reality but he is also making the comparison of being 'drunk' with the Spirit. Just thought that was cool so I thought I would share that with anyone who is still reading at this point.
OK. Back to SDSP. After the interview he invited me to come to San Diego and of coarse I accepted the invitation. But there is one little detail that concretes the agreement, my first payment of $300 (or 11%ish) of the $3500 that I need to raise. No, I am not going to ask you for any money. What? Yea. What I would like for you to do instead is pray about supporting me this summer. Then, and only then, do I want to you send a support check (any amount you feel lead to send. ie. $0.01-$3500). What if someone already sent the full amount to me? Well that extra stuff will just go on to someone else who didn't raise all of their support. Easy enough.
I am looking forward to getting to know both my supporters and everyone that will be out in Cali over the next few months. Its easier for those that I see in person so PLEASE comment or hit me up on Facebook!

In His Name,
chris

Ps. A few of the people going on SDSP from my Bible study are going to raffle off an IPad! tickets will be $5 so go to my Facebook Support Page and get the details as they are posted!

Pray Time (this is going to be on most posts so look for it!)
1. Supporting me this summer
2. That God will provide in every way this summer
3. For me
4. For all of the people I will get to talk to this summer
